Barry Carter is Senior Vice President and CIO of RealPage. In this position, he is responsible for overall management of Desktop Support and Infrastructure Hosting sectors of the company; Smart Source IT Outsourcing; and Corporate Applications. His experience in mergers and acquisitions, data center management and application delivery make him well-suited for this role. Barry most recently served as CFO/COO of EFG, a specialty insurance company in Los Colinas, from 2012 to 2017. He started at EFG as CIO and continued to drive transformations across the company while gaining additional responsibilities. EFG made the full digital transformation from selling paper-based contracts during his tenure. Prior to EFG, Barry was EVP of Fujitsu American running Outsourcing in North America and the Caribbean. He transitioned to Fujitsu in 2009 as part of the asset transfer and outsourcing agreement of his Alliance Data IT team. In his position as CIO of Alliance Data, he was responsible for Strategic Account Management and Infrastructure Hosting, and he managed teams in Dallas and Columbus. Prior to joining Alliance Data Systems, Barry was CIO of Capital One Auto Finance. One, Mr. Carter was CIO of AirTran Airways. Barry is recognized for delivering solutions that anticipate the future, advancing teamwork, accelerating growth, saving millions of real dollars, and boosting productivity. His team at Alliance Data earned the 2008 American Business Award for Most Outstanding IT Organization beating Accenture, MSA of Pittsburg and the State of Missouri. In 2009, his team was a finalist for the Most Outstanding IT Organization and Barry was a finalist for the Most Outstanding IT Executive award. The CIO Leadership Network selected him as one of the 2009 winners of the Global Innovation and Change Leadership award. Barry’s education includes a BA degree in Computer Science with a minor in Mathematics from East Carolina University. He holds an MBA in Organizations and Management from Syracuse University. Most recently, he received the MIT Sloan School of Management Executive Certificate in Technology, Operations, and Value Chain Management.
